Own it,
don't just wear it.

Most men who walk into Man About Town come to hire. Some leave having bought instead. The same fitting experience applies either way — you try the suit on in person, we assess what works for your frame and the occasion, and alterations are done in-house before you collect. No ordering blind from a size chart.

Looking for something made to your measurements? See our tailored suits page. Considering hiring rather than buying? See tuxedo hire or suit hire Sydney.

Which is right for you

Buy or hire a suit — how to decide.

Buy

If you wear a suit more than once or twice a year — for work, for events, for a wedding you're in — owning one is the better long-term investment. The cost per wear drops quickly, and a suit that fits properly is always ready.

Also the right call if you are a groom who wants to keep the suit from the wedding day.

Hire

If it is a single occasion — a friend's wedding, a gala dinner, a one-off formal — hire is the practical answer. You wear it once, return it, and spend a fraction of the purchase price. See our tuxedo hire and suit hire pages.

If you are unsure, come in and we will give you an honest answer based on how often you will actually wear it.

In-store buying

Buy a suit in-store in Sydney.

01

Try before you commit

You see it on your body before you spend a dollar. Fit, drape, proportion — all visible in person. That is the only way to choose a suit properly.

02

Fitted and altered in-store

Once you choose a suit, we fit it properly. Sleeve length, trouser break, jacket seat — adjusted on the premises before you leave.

03

Our staff have fitted Sydney men for formal occasions since 1987. We know what works on different frames and for different events — and we will tell you plainly.
